Welcome to my Guitar School! This is a new endeavor of mine to help guitarist of all
styles and levels fill in possible holes in their playing.
The material that I am focusing on is the basic information that all guitarists should
know regardless of style and musical genre. This is essentially the same information that
is taught at schools like Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. These pages won't replace the
experience of going to a school like Musicians Institute. I can't duplicate all of the great teachers
that you would be exposed to, nor can I give you the classroom and performance experience.
All I can do is help you to better understand music and put the guitar fingerboard into focus. You can be assured that as a full time instructor at Musicians Institute for more than 25 years and being responsible for much of the curriculum development for the guitar school, that the information presented here will be very accurate and presented in a very professional way.
Most guitar players are very shape oriented musicians. We know chord shapes, scale shapes,
movable chord shapes and melodic patterns. These lessons are constructed with those
kinds of guitar players in mind. If you are a guitarists and don't know what notes you are playing
and why these notes work in a solo or a chord progression, then this material has been written
with you in mind.
The main goal of this Guitar School will be to help you learn your fingerboard and answer the
question of what, why and how music works on our instrument. As always, I promise to have
very professionally laid out information that is easy to read and fun to learn from.
This will be a free site, all I ask is that you send me feedback on any of the information that will
be posting here. I look forward to getting to know you.
Please write and let me know how you are doing and if you have any questions and take a moment to
add your e-mail address to my mailing list. You will be notified when new
files have been added to this site.
Thank you very much,
